Magnetoresistance of three-constituent composites: Percolation near a critical line

چکیده
Scaling theory, duality symmetry, and numerical simulations of a random network model are used to study the magnetoresistance of a metal/insulator/perfect conductor composite with a disordered columnar microstructure. The phase diagram is found to have a critical line which separates regions of saturating and nonsaturating magnetoresistance. The percolation problem which describes this line is a generalization of anisotropic percolation. We locate the percolation threshold and determine the values of the critical exponents t i5t'5s i5s' 51.3060.02, n54/360.02, which are the same as in two-constituent two-dimensional isotropic percolation. We also determine the exponents which characterize the critical dependence on magnetic field, and confirm numerically that n is independent of anisotropy. We propose and test a complete scaling description of the magnetoresistance in the vicinity of the critical line.

Phonon Transport and Thermal Conductivity Percolation in Random Nanoparticle Composites
In this paper, we investigated the effective thermal conductivity of three dimensional nanocomposites composed of randomly distributed binary nanoparticles with large differences (contrast ratio) in their intrinsic (bulk) thermal conductivity. When random composites are made from particles with very different thermal conductivity (large contrast ratio), a continuous phase of high thermal conduc...
متن کاملSolution sol–gel processing and investigation of percolation threshold in La2=3Ca1=3MnO3:xSiO2 nanocomposite
The composites of La2=3Ca1=3MnO3:xSiO2 (0pxp0:40) have been synthesized by sol–gel technique to derive homogeneous nanocomposites. Si by virtue of its strong preference for tetrahedral site does not enter the perovskite lattice. The percolation threshold composition has been determined by resistivity measurements at around 90% volume fraction of LCMO. A detailed electrical, magnetic and magneto...
متن کاملConductivity and magnetoresistance of a periodic composite by network discretization
We describe a simple approach for calculating the effective conductivity, dielectric constant, and magnetoresistance of periodic composites, by reducing the composite to an effective impedance network. The method is used to calculate the effective conductance of periodic two-dimensional binary composites on a square lattice, in good agreement with previous calculations using other methods. We u...
متن کاملA model for modified electrode with carbon nanotube composites using percolation theory in fractal space
We introduce a model for prediction the behavior of electrodes which modified withcarbon nanotubes in a polymer medium. These kinds of polymer composites aredeveloped in recent years, and experimental data for its percolation threshold isavailable. We construct a model based on percolation theory and fractal dimensionsand using experimental percolation threshold for calculating the moments of c...
متن کاملPhase-interchange Relations for the Elastic Moduli of Two-phase Composites
-For isotropic two-phase composites, we derive phase-interchange inequalities for the bulk and shear moduli in two and three space dimensions. We find optimal microstructures that realize part of the bulb: and shear moduli bounds in two dimensions. Geometrical-parameter bounds and the translation method are used to prove the results. The phase-interchange relations are applied to composites wit...
